Vintage collectible Flying Eagle cents - cupronickel penny coins from 1856-1858. This was the first attempt at a 'small cent' and were called 'nicks' in their time after the cupro-nickel composition. The first widely circulating strikes occurred in 1857 but only lasted 2 years before the Indian Cent.
